Looking on the US forums and to some degree the EU forums the RAF changes has understandably stirred up fair bit of interest in dual boxing. Is this finally going to be the end of all the anti-multiboxer threads? Seems like a number are blowing off the dust from their second PCs and gearing up for a world of dual-boxing.

It would be nice to have some time off patrolling the Suggestions forums defending multiboxing! ;)

Lets hope for the best shall we

the turning point where multiboxing becomes a gimmick...

Don't kid yourself. IT IS a gimmick now.

I've been doing this for about a year now. Others here much longer. I get people ingame telling me "oh, doing the latest fad now?".... uh, no fuckstick, I've been doing this for a year now.I didn't start boxing cause it was a fad :(

I've been told I'm an unoriginal copycat that wants to be like Ellay.

The great part is I was 2 boxing wow back as long as i've played... dual-boxing.com brought me the tools to REALLY shine at it... I remember one day saying to a friend "If only I had a program that would take my keystrokes and send them to both copies of wow..."... and suddenly, I find Keyclone...

I've had 2 accounts since nov 05. I've been dual-boxing between 2 wow windows since then till one day I'm just messing around dual boxing on the at the time brand spanking new server Cairne. I ran into a 5 boxer and asked him how he was able to send commands to all his toons at once as tabbing back and forth between 2 windows was a "B". He told me about db.com and here I am :D

Nah, I just laugh at the terrible irony.

Every time someone tells me I copied the "shaman fad" because it was OP, I just think back to the day that I had to defend it on these very boards because it "wasn't viable without AoE".

Already my guild is turning into a multiboxers only guild, with my best mate commencing his dual-boxing adventures today and most other guildies considering it as well.

I'm thinking of turning 5 accounts into 6 to speed level a paladin/warlock combo and make an insta-60 rogue for lockpicking.

why do people multibox?

Because the game have gone boring for me atleast, if i hadnt i wouldnt be playing tbh. WoW have gone extremley dull since january tbh with nearly no new instances (wich is already cleared by the best guilds) and 4-6 months to go untill the expansion?

I bet we will get to test out the talents before WOTLK launches since it will stop people from leaving.

Been doing this over a year now .. started out with 2 accounts and then 3 , then 4, and now 5.
If i could not multibox ... i would quit WOW bottom line and find something else to do ....

Had 2 accounts since before BC came out... but didn't have time to start 5 boxing until my raiding guild collapsed with the rest of my old server when AoC came out. -- You can tell how long I've been working at it by my join date on this forum :D

I was 2manning DStrat since my warrior started getting gear from AQ40. The only problem was I had to click back and forth to my healer. Same story: "if i could only get '4' to go to my priest to spam heals on me..."

Keyclone was the major breakthrough!!

Believe me, the reason why most people don't multi-box is because of the perceived barriers to entry. Now that Bliz has removed the levelling part of it people are going to realize that their computers can handle a couple clients and things will really take.

The simplest yardstick for this will be keyclone's sales.

The simplest yardstick for this will be keyclone's salesso... you're saying i'll be able to move up from piel's to coors light? schweet!

maybe.. someday... in a distant future... i'll be able to switch to sam adams... *sigh* .. to dream....

A lot of us have been duel-boxing for years. I have had as many as 5 acnts in EQ, 4 in DAoC and now..umm ..hehe..A LOT! here in WoW. What is semi new to me is this site, a great community of like minded individuals. And the knowledge granted to me of just how easy it is and could have been all along. I went from an "alt tab" MBr to KEYCLONE..my Savior! Before this site, I would run into a multi-boxer from time to time and have the typical converstaion..Me- " Hey ! You duel-boxing? ..Them-"Hehe, Yea! I'm playing both at the same time, makes grinding much easier having my own healer to tag along!" .. Me- " Roflmao..me too! See you around!"

Until one day my life changed forever. I was on Bloodmyst island with my 70 priest and mage helping my paly do quests and such. Out of the corner of my eye I saw what seemed to be 5 drani males following each other very close. It seemed as if they were "stacked" on each other. Then they all casted at the same time and i had to ask.." You multiboxing?"..He replied " I'm 5boxing..yea" I said "WTF? how?" He said " duel-boxing.com has all your answers" And here I am 8) So long ALT-TAB!!

why do people multibox? It's fun. That's it really, at least for me. I don't do it to avoid PUGs... I have a guild full of friends and I never had to PUG even when I only single boxed. I don't do it for PvP, since I do not like PvP very much. I don't do it to level up characters per se, since it's easy enough to do that solo. I don't do it for gear, as it's much easier to gear up by grouping and raiding with my guild. I just enjoy it.

Ive been multiboxing in some shape or form since EQ. I admit I only recently got into the keycloning portion of it :D . I have never seen another multiboxer on detheroc, although I am sure they are there somewhere.

The comments have changed over time.

I started 5 boxing in Jun 07. 2-3 boxed for 2 years before that (follow, heal)

I have always been a hardware hound and , went the hardware route for boxing,

its has been great since then.

with new triple exp , I may have to expand to 10 (shhhhhh don't tell my better half)

4 friends accounts I think.
you would not believe how fast he was leveling. in one evening he went from 1->14 in about 2 hours. Tripple XP is awsome. I was green with envy just listening to him count off the levels in vent.

Does it really matter how long you have been multiboxing for? :)

Who cares if anyone says you are a copy cat, or just jumping on the latest fad.

The way I see it, it will be like all fads. The crowd who suddenly hear of mega levelling will jump on it.

90% of them will realise that you actually have to do things like get software, and setup macro's and have to grind through collection quests and will move on. They'll affect a "been there, done that attitude" and say how boring and unoriginal it all is.

Others will enjoy it and continue. It might finally mean that enough people know enough about multiboxing to be indifferent towards it rather than vehemently against it.

New guy in your forums, copying your fun.

/agree with shaeman

We have all copied something in this game. I doubt any of us came up with the best specs , gem setups, farming methods, or much of anything on our own without some sort of "copying". I Sheath the peens!... It's in our nature...

Sigh, copy this, copy that bla bla. :)

People should stop with all the nonsence, its just a simple fact that once something gets more attention you will both get more haters, fanbois and people that actually do it. I recon that most of the folks that multibox now, previously did so aswell, just in a much less organised fashion (think of alt tabbing and such). Or even people that go way back with multiboxing from Ulitma Online which was very well suited ofr that aswell, with auto hotkey :)

Anyways as long as everyone doing it enjoys it who gives a damn who started what, except perhaps for historical value in 5 years when we play the latest X-pac of wow :)
