Eve online

I tried out EVE on-line this year, maybe last I forget. This game enticed me to stay a couple months. This is the very first game I started boxing past 2 accounts. For PVE reasons.

1 Battleship for protection against pirates and rats
1 Indy hauler to move the ore
3 Mining barges

I used 3 computers to do it.

Because mining cycles take so long I could alt tab between clients and manage it pretty good, all three miners on one PC. Hauler and Fighter had their own PC for easy management.

With the resources some of us have today with both hardware and software that little mining operation I had going could be a heck of a lot easier and more efficient!

There are no controls for this game to drive. You select your location, and you’re off. Now generally speaking for combat reasons, is it possible to box 5 within reason? Is there a way to make all ships head to a gate you select via key stroke? (No mice interaction) Could it work just as smoothly as the MMOs were boxing now?

I’m not sure if any type of macros exist in this game. Would it be possible to have say 5 Raven battle ships to assist one? Could you make a macro and bind it to a key to orbit a target? I know you can do all these things manually via mouse. But we know that’s not going to work out very well, especially because it’s small font.

For those more experienced then I am. What do you think, are these things possible? If so there is potential here.

I never got to PVP. I got zerged a couple times but that didn’t count  Gate camps prevented me from getting out to 0.0 space. But to have 5 ravens that could send a wave of 40 missiles’ at once. That would be just.. Damn funny. Would brings me my next question. What gate camp?

I'm technically still in an EVE corp, one of the main production types in the corp has 9 or 10 accounts that they use at once, running from three PCs. They gave up pretty much on PvP to go full out mining/production. And now makes enough ISK to fund all their accounts without paying more money. (Legal to buy game time with in-game currency, or buy in-game currency with real world currency vie GTC (Game Time Card)).

I gave up playing my three accounts mainly as I like PvE and EVEs PvE is just there to give PvPers a way of earning money, IMO. And while mining/production/research can make lots of cash, I don't find it that much fun. :(

Sort of game I'd quite imagine Xzin playing and conquering :D

I could see Xzin getting in to that as well

I did a little research. Reason, was I was getting ready to try it 5 boxing. But looks like there is no assist in game from the forums of EVE.

It has been requested if one was added it would require mouse clicking. The UI font is very small. Mouse sync would be a real issue.

Auto follow is in game. Again requires clicking. Basically to make this happen you would need a perfect sync of mice across 5 computers. UIs would have to be exact.

The question now is if that's possible? Also how?

There are some interesting (or were last time I looked) Bot like solutions to mining on the AHK forums, it might be possible to work through something like that to get some semblance of /assist etc.

Though biggest issue I'd think with a large fleet would be the physical size of ships, when they bump the change course. :(

I did see some botting software that could do the trick. But given the nature of the beast and how many times I get reported now. I'm sure they would be doing some scanning and find it pretty quickly.

Good thinking however.

I am currently 5 boxing eve online with Kavoom (-G) version in multicast mode (keys and mouse).

So 5 computers 5 screens.

Tricks:
I use full screen on all of them - all the same resolution.
Every UI is set up exactly the same. (set your snap to 12 or 24 pixels to make this easier)
I use 12 point font.
I fly all the same ships on all accounts.
Where possible, have all your skills the same to so that all systems respond at the same speed.

Be prepared to cry when you get hot dropped by a large fleet and lose all 5 ships :cursing:
