Anyone 5 man boxed for the tiger mount in ZG?

This comment indicates that it should be possible, a bit complicated in terms of synchronization though:


We 4-manned him yesterday, group comprising of:
Druid (Tank) 70
Shaman (Healer) 70
Mage 70
Hunter 70We killed off the tigers quickly and had the Tank keep them all together. Then we dps'ed all 3 down with the Mage keeping a check on the healer add, ready to Counterspell (they still got a few heals in due to cooldowns, but np). Managed to kill them off each within the 10 seconds pretty easily.

Phase 2 was simply tank and spank up near the walls to avoid too much knockback. Tank took up tiger adds when they came but group still focussed on Thekal. Went down pretty easily in the end :) no mount though, maybe next time! Here is the link to the boss: http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=14509

Any ideas? I'm far from 70 myself - but curious to try it with 1pal+4sham team, think it will be doable at 70 with ok gear.

not done ZG since pre TBC, but if i rember right you need to dps the boss and his adds at the same rate, and kill them all within a few seconds of each other, one will also heal the others if not interupted, (shouldnt be a problem just have one shaman with a macro like /cast [target=healing adds name] Earthshock (rank1)

first phase will be the hardest undoubtably with the rogue add gougeing the person tanking could cause some problems,

I did this and the raptor boss once on my 1x resto shammy, 3x ele shammy, 1x prot paladin.

The prot paladin tanking simplifies things, and focus earthshocks help as well. CTRL+V to see when people are casting heals.

I don't recall any gouges, but my shammies were having no problems "offtanking" when things went awry.

At 80 a lot of people will be farming kara every week for that mount. :( I'll have to power lvl another tank or find another tank to run my second team there. It would be great when all 4 from one team gets there mount then i can just make a raid can kill that boss quick. But my old guild had kara on farm for 6 months and having 3-4 raids going there for 3 months. It was only dropped once.

I attempted this several times with my group of 5 shammy. The thing that got me was the heal. If a heal got off then I was both in danger of one of my guys being bursted down or me running out of mana. I never did kill him but I'm pretty confident I could if I had an enemy castbar mod, several times I got them very very close to dead. I didn't get to phase2, but I imagine it would be pretty easy, worst case probably would require a mana pot.

I did some research on ZG.

This can be soloed by a Pally, and another class. You can find videos of it being 2 manned. I was thinking about doing it, got a map and everything until I saw the drop % of that mount. The chance of a drop is 1%.

Try pressing CTRL+V to turn on the little health meters above each target's head. It also shows mini castbars so the moment you see movement on those bars mash your "earth shock focus" button to interrupt the heal.

For me it was only showing the cast-bar on the person I was targeting ... maybe it also does it if it is your focus target too /shrug.

i actually tried this today with my team

protpally, holypriest, 3 mages

doing the Bloodlord and trash in ZG is cake....though the tiger dude giving me a hard time.

each gauge i lose one of my clothies making it impossible to even pass phase1

anything i missed ?

anything i missed ?The trick is to not get gouged :) Keep the rogue behind you so he is facing your back and he will be unable to gouge you.

When I do the initial pull, I use Avenger Shield, then as they are running towards me, stun the rogue, pull the other two further away, run to the other side of them and turn around . This *should* put you facing your casters with two mobs between you and them and the rogue hitting you in the back. Good luck!
