So, I recently rerolled on the most recent server which is very new (still few lvl 70's etc) which is reflected in the economy. Stuff like ore, metal bars, gems, leather, cloth - the usual tradeskill stuff that sells for a small fortune on established servers are VERY low priced in absolute terms. So I was pondering how to use this to my advantage. I usually level up fairly quickly but the prices will increase as I level (and earn money).

As a boxer I have easy access to gear (instances) for the gear-dependent chars (which is pretty much only my tank) and don't have to spend money on anything but the level 30 mounts, skill training and repairs (have mages for food and water), so I'm guessing I'll be able to earn a good buck if I utilize this correctly. Any ideas on the specifics of how to best use the "new-server economy"?

If you are patient, just start leveling as fast as possible, get some gold, and start hoarding as many items as you can. Just stock up on mats that will most likely become hot commodities in the future. I'm not sure if every server is similar or not, but I'm sure there are plenty of staple items that will become highly sought after. As soon as people start twinking, all the BoE gear for those brackets will be pricey, but i bet you could buy some of it for next to nothing right now. Hell, if you can farm the deadmines, most of that stuff sells for about the same amount of money as outland greens. Sometimes more...

If you're horde. You can make a lot of money off of [Deadly Blunderbuss] if you get lucky and nobody is massively undercutting on a new server. Since quest nazis HAVE to have one to finish the quest in Ashenvale.

When Jubei Thos was a few weeks old I made a small fortune selling mooncloth bags - they were selling for 35 to 40g and cost me less than 10 to make. Everyone needs bags.

Netherweave bags are much cheaper and easier to make for cheap 16 slot bags.
