I now have a Pally/4 Priest (only at 45 atm) and I'm definately rolling a tank/4 shammy team and swapping the tank out for a DK later on.
So far what I've been doing is basically grinding (few quests here and there) upto 13 and then hitting up instances non stop... this seems to be very slow... anyway onto my question.. what are your played times from 1-70? roughly.. and how did you do it? boosing is not an option for me, so I'm not overly interested in those stats
Thanks
(edited out the dyslexia)
i cant speak for 70 just yet, but to get to 27 took me 40 hours.

Take this with a grin of salt ( i tend to wander a bunch, and do non- leveling things like pvp). My 5 huntard team dinged 70 right at 14.5 days /played. Without all the messing around, and knowing now what I can/can't handle, like multiple instance runs where I wiped many many times over (just to complete the dang things), I'd say i could get the time down to about 9-10 days. Its what im working on with my new shaman team.

Ok that's cool... do you tend to quest mostly and run a few instances for just quests? Because it seems my approach of 'farming instances' isn't working out to be too efficient.

I quested my shammies straight through with some instance grinds in RFK and SM Cathedral. My /played at 60 was 6.5 days or so. My average time to 70 mostly questing with the occasional instance run is about 12-13 days played.

For the most part, when i'd run instances a bunch if times it was when i had cleared an area of quests, and my level wasn't high enough to get the full amount of quests in the new zone i was going into. From lvl 64-70 pretty much it was all questing though. I took 1-2 trips into instances to finish some quests, but thats it. With the new team of shamans, I havent been inside an instance yet, I figure if i get camped somewhere along the line, ill run 1 for an hr or 2, but thats it. Lotsa travelling involved, but ghostwolf/ lvl 30 mounts make travelling to new quest areas ok now.

Great stuff thanks. I'll crack out the old Joanas Guide and discard the lower level courier quests.
I've resisted going with shammies so far but after seeing how incredibly awesome Thunderstorm is, I've gone with 4 shammies + Druid then I'll power level a DK to replace the druid. Should make for some very interesting PVP... the magic shield from the DK, with the 'pulling spell' and thunderstorm, things will be flying all the place :D

My Hunter team (plus a priest) hit 66 at about 8 days played. I then swapped out 2 chars for 2 70s and it took another 2 days or so to ding 70. Overall ~10 days, mostly through instances and questing.

Ok that's cool... do you tend to quest mostly and run a few instances for just quests? Because it seems my approach of 'farming instances' isn't working out to be too efficient.I also run a paladin+4xpriest team and I'm doing EVERY quest that does not involve looting stuff (unless I can loot the item on all my characters when it drops or when I can loot all the items on my main and trade them to my slaves (wastewander thingy for example)). Other than that I run every instance at least once (doing every quest) and I farm some instances for extra XP which makes up for all the collection quests I'm skipping (farmed SM Lib/Cath for a while, will start running Z'F a couple of times tonight/tomorow) and this seems to work pretty well. My played is now 5 days and my characters are lvl 46. There is at LEAST 12 hours of random idling, levelling enchanting, making macro's, helping friends and other random non-levelling related stuff in that playtime aswell. I'm also a slow leveller. :)

4 Shamans in 10 days played including max herb, alch and mining. 8k+ honor on each and a bunch of tokens from BGs
3 Warlocks in 7 days played including 250ish tailoring on all and about 5k+ honor + tokens.
