View Full Version : hex idea for shamans for WOTLK
During the downtime ( sometimes ) in 5v5 while you wait for them to rush you....
tab through your clients and set a focus target for each shaman to target a different person on the opposite team write a /target focus /cast hex macro
:) just a thought.

I think hex is going to make things either very easy or very complicated for boxing.
Are there any people who multibox mages? It would be nice to hear what they do regards sheep. My first thought was to tab through targets on your main while having your hex key on round robin and simply spam it. I've not really though long and hard about using focus on anything else but my own characters. If i start using it for CC methods i think my brain might explode.

I would consider a 3 button solution for 4 shaman:
Button 1: Tabs on client 2, 3, 4
Button 2: Tabs on client 3, 4
Button 3: Tabs on client 4
Press all buttons then hex. Hopefully you will have somewhat disjunct targets.

my idea was to bind Focus to "F" on all clients and then.
F6 (slave 1 client)
/assist "main"
/Focus
F7 (slave 2 client)
etc etc
than i choose the target with my main and hit F6-F9 to set focus without having to leave my main window. This way im sure it wont get screwed up by delay since i can hit the macro several times. One hit and the whole enemy team is hexxed if in line of sight and range.

F7 (slave 2 client) Too many keyboard presses in my opinion.. in PvP you won't have time.. you need to do a non-overlapping hex in like 0.5 seconds.

Can't you use a simple cast sequence?
Toon 1:
hex,,,
Toon 2:
,hex,,,
Or sth like that. On each press you target someone else... it's simply not a the same time, but would work I guess ^^

I am at work but i have an awesome mage sheeping macro. Ill post it when i get home.
Basicaly its F2 sets a raid icon (Skull) for main and Sets a Focus for main as well
F3 Sets a raid Icon (Square) from main and alt 2 sets focus
F4 Sets raid icon..... you see where im going with this.
Then I just target one hit F2, tab Hit F3 and so on untill i have all the CC targets marked and set as focus. Then i have a CC Focus key on all toons. It just does a target=focus /cast CC and i put in there a stop macro part and an announcement. So the macro will stop if there is not focus target for that clone and wont announce the CC on target.
I hope this gives you a good enough idea. I use it on my hunters as well. i have my main raid target, my alts set focus and cast Hunter's Mark (that way i know lag didnt mess up the focus). then i have a pet attack focus macro so i have 4 piggies charge 4 targets... its great :)
So given enough time in an arena to set these up hexing would be HAX :P

On my mages, I use the normal assist the leader macros for sheeping, but my sheep button is different for both toons. (f7 on main f8 on the other)
So when i see a group of 3:
select mob 1 >> cast sheep from main toon (F7)
immediately (while casting)
tab to mob 2 >> cast sheep from 2nd account (F8)
Then freeze the 3rd mob in place and proceed to 2-shot him.
Sheeps last a while, so you can take your time picking the next one to kill, or bandage and pot if something went terribly wrong.
BTW: There is an engineering trinket that "sheeps" targets already. If you have some gold to level up engineering, you can try this out on your shamans now. I think the cooldown is just longer.
