This game is now in open beta and going live on the 24th, thus far I am absolutely loving this MMO, which is very polished for being a beta.

Who else is playing this awesome game?

Have heard reviews good and bad about it, going to let it pan out myself.

Pretty burned out on WoW as of late. I'm going to pick up this game and try it out triple boxing and see what happens. It definitely looks like what I need in terms of a relaxed environment, and more mature players.

You could not be any more correct.

I am sitting on the Meneldor server btw.

Very nice! I can't decide what I want for my 3rd class. I have Guardian as my main and Minstrel as support/healing, trying to figure out the best class for the final slot. Leaning towards a Burglar but I want something I don't have to focus on too much. Perhaps hunter fills that roll well?

I would say so, they are very versatile and the range is amazing at times.

Moved from WoW to LOTRO yesterday. I was in closed beta and open beta.

I am dual-boxing a Guardian/Minstrel right now. Everything seems fine so far except for autofollow. It breaks rather easily compared to WoW (if you have to loot, or click away from your party leader, you will lose follow), which is pretty annoying. I haven't found a way to bind AF to a mouse or keyboard key either. I'll most likely add it in a movement macro.

I guess you could use the alias system, but it would be just as annoying to do: /alias ;f /follow (or whatever).

I will probably try 2 Hunters tonight, as they are the "nukers" of LOTRO.

I haven't purchased the game yet, but from what I am reading tripleboxing ( especially different classes) might be harder than it's worth, for enjoyment factor that is. How difficult/fun is guardian/minstrel dual boxing?

Hrmm, just got the game, not really feeling it. I guess I was expecting something completely different. It doesn't feel smooth at all.

Give things to lvl 15.

Yeah, it takes awhile to get everything rolling. My guardian/minstrel just hit 16th level. Everything is great now, and I have all of my keys where I want them.

You really can't use WoW to compare. If you ever played Asheron's Call 2 (I dual-boxed that as well), it is very similar.

I am having a blast so far. The "chapter"-style quests are great. And they do a good job at throwing you into solo instances every once in awhile (people in your group can go along with you, as long as it's not a solo class quest).

It definitely takes a better system than WoW. I have to upgrade my 2nd box now, whereas it played fine with a secondary healer in WoW. It's just too chuggy for my liking (and I don't like turning the graphics down to super-very-low where everything looks like blobs).

This game in incredible, but I warn anyone trying it. If you do not get past the tutorial section and go to at least lvl 10-15 you are doing yourself a great dis service. You will truly be missing out on a great game.

I keep chugging away at it, giving it a couple hours of my day. What's really bothering me now is something very silly - night time.

It's just way too dark, even with changing gamma settings, my first experience of the shire I feel is completely ruined. It's a quality game overall though, I suppose I'm just being nit picky :)

If night time bugs you then dont play EQ2. lol

I've tried out EQ2 before - twice. Actually if I recall correctly, EQ1 was probably the worst, my first ever mmorpg experience was making an erudite and being able to see absolutely nothing. Luckily you were able to get enhanced vision in that game.

I have to agree with you there. There are times when I just afk/go eat dinner or something and wait for it to be daytime again. Then there are places like the Old Forest that darken upon entering. But I've found cranking up gamma a few notches to help a little bit.

So far I have had little to no success using AutoHotKey to run two on the same machine, LOTR seems not to accept ControlSends which are what one needs for dragging a healer along.
