There are various Human Interface Devices that can be employed to enhance gameplay. The following sections detail a few of them
Legal notice
Some types of hardware(like the G15 keyboard) provide potential support for automation. This might not be allowed depending on the game you play. For example: World of Warcraft allows you to use the G15, but you can not set it up in such a way that it automates things. For more information, check the GM conversations page.
Keyboards
Logitech
There are 2 Logitech models of note, the G15 and G11. The G15 has been re-released but with much of the functionality of the original missing.
G15
There are two versions of the G15 Keyboard [1], The Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard and the Logitech G15 Keyboard AKA G15 Refresh. The original has 18 G-keys where the Refresh has only 6. In both models there are 3 layers for a total of 56 or 18 extra keys. Both models also have a Blacklit LCD display and keys. The Original G15 was a very good keyboard for multiboxing as an additional 56 keys is very useful, unfortunately the G15 Refresh is very limited, with the G11 being a better device.
G11
The Logitech G11 [2] is very similar to the original G15, having the same layout, only lacking the LCD
Keypads
X-Keys
PI Engineering [3]produce a number of keypads used in the Multiboxing community, the most common of which is the X-Keys Professional. All X-Keys models come in both PS/2 and USB variants. It is generally held that the PS/2 is the better model to have as the macro engine is held on the device reducing memory and CPU foot print for software boxers and while allowing hardware broadcast using PS/2 multiplexers
All X-Keys except the Footpedal have clear caps on the buttons to allow custom key symbols to be used.
