Level Cleared - Group Composition - Short Comment
- 70 Warrior(tank), 3x 70 Shaman(dps), 70 Priest(healer)
It's pretty straight-forward, only wiped because of being uncareful. Didn't manage to kill the last boss yet, only got him to 50% in fase 2 and then he started to do too much damage.
Tips and tactics
This is all just tank-and-spank except for the last boss. It's very doable for a standard group composition. Just make sure that you're following the tactics on Ingvar the Plunderer.
Prince Keleseth
Make sure you kill the Frost Tombs quickly (use a "/target Frost Tomb" macro followed by an instant cast spell if you're having trouble), especially when you have a dedicated healer that is trapped ;) A decent level 70 geared tank can tank both the boss and the summoned skeletons. It's obvious that any AoE damage is welcome at that point.
The key to this fight is to keep everyone near the tank, who can pick up the skeleton adds with their respective AOE threat generator (Consecration, Thunder Clap, Swipe, or Death and Decay/Pestilence), as well as taking down the ice tombs asap. The ice tombs have very little health.
Skarvald and Dalronn
Standard tank-and-spank. Grounding totems are welcome for Dalronn's spells. If you have grounding totems, it's advisable to kill Dalronn first, because when either one of them dies, they come back as a spirit and don't have an aggro table. It's important to get them killed more or less at the same time (bring them both to 10% or so), because of the missing aggro table and because the spirits are untargetable.
Once again, it is advisable to keep everyone extremely close to the tank to keep Skarvald from charging random party members. Both can be killed at the same time, or one can be killed and the spirit add ignored while the other is burned down.
Ingvar the Plunderer
A few simple rules:
- Immediately stop casting with Staggering Roar or you can't cast for 6 seconds. You need some AoE healing after this.
- When he's going to do Smash, make sure the tank does not stand directly in front of him. Make sure you are facing him away from your group at any time because of this attack.
- Make sure your team doesn't stand too close together, as Shadow Axe in phase 2 does AoE damage. When this happens, move your characters!
The second phase(when he resurrects) is pretty much the same, but with higher damage. Smash becomes Dark Smash, Staggering Roar becomes Dreadful Roar. The second phase also gives a healing debuff through Woe Strike. The debuff damages the healer when he heals a target that is cursed.
The key to this fight is smart management of positioning. Keep Ingvar facing away from the rest of the group (Who should be spread out to minimalize Shadow Axe inphase 2) or smash/dark smash will decimate your party. It does approximately 16k damage, but is affected by damage reduction from armor, so while the tank is only taking approximately 4k per smash, it will more than likely one shot any non-plate wearer. When Ingvar roars, a simple jump will cancel all casting until it goes off, at which point it is safe to resume DPS. At the end of phase 1, take the time to get everyone to full health and replenish mana. When phase 2 starts, burn him down ASAP as his damage is increased, he has a stacking curse he applies to the tank, and Shadow Axe may very well kill someone before you can react.
