Shaman
From Dual-Boxing Wiki
|
Summary
The shaman is one of the most versatile classes for the purpose of multiboxing.
A few reasons why they are so populair are :
- High elemental damage
- Healing capability
- Mail armor (tough to kill)
- Totems have great synergy
- Earth Elementals make good tanks
Populair setups you will see shamans in are :
- 5 x Shaman
- 1 x Paladin and 4 x Shaman
Shaman are used primairly as caster type class when being multiboxed. Enhancement is possible but melee positioning is very hard to learn, and fairly tedious.
When running a 5 Shaman team it is advised to use a one handed weapon and a shield. The additional armor value will make you tougher to kill.

Enhancement
Restoration
PvE - 0/0/61 - No healing way, more raid oriented
This build is used primarily for raid healing. Due to lackluster returns from Ancestral Knowledge, 0/5/56 is not preferred to the amazing top-end restoration talents. This is primarily a chain healing build, with only 1 point in healing way for 5-mans. In 5-mans, you will want to spam rank 1 healing wave on the tank to buff healing way up to 3 stacks before the pull. This build does admirably in 5-mans, though maxing out the healing way talent is preferred if you're going to be doing more 5-man instances then raiding.
PvE - 0/0/61 - 5-man oriented Healing Way build
Built specifically with the 5-man instance in mind, this 0/0/61 build still works well in raids. For the shaman who prefers to heal like a priest/paladin, you CAN spam healing way but your mana efficiency is less then that of a priest/paladin. If you're assigned to tank healing, you can step out of your large healing wave casts to conserve mana, and use rank 1 healing wave to keep the healing way buff active. Keep in mind that chain heal is still your most efficient heal.
PvP - 0/7/54 - PvP improved grounding totem
Sacrificing a few nice PvE talents for decreasing the cooldown of grounding totem. This build does not perform as well in PvE, and in fights with large amounts of aoe damage (chain heal) or an aggro dump, it's best to watch the threat meters carefully.
