Level Cleared - Group Composition - Short Comment

70 - 5x Shaman - One of the easiest instances I've run with this group - fresh 70s with only blue pvp gear.

Tips and Tactics

You will need to drop 5x grounding totems at pretty much every pull except the sentinels - get used to it! It also helps to drop them and wait 10s or so, that way when they get eaten up you have a new set ready without waiting for the cooldown.

On the sentinels, if you're having trouble, just rotate thunderstorms to keep them away and you'll hardly get hit.

The eels before the second boss are rather tough. I still haven't found a great way to take care of them. The first batch I pull 2-3 groups at once and use 5x elemental mastery + thunderstorm which pretty much instagibs them. After that I try to pull only 1 batch at a time and drop 5x magma totems and use chain lightning liberally.

Bosses

Selin Fireheart

  1. Once you've taken out all the husks around him, move your group into the right corner behind the crystal (so when you pull him towards you he'll be standing on top of the crystal.
  2. Drop all totems - 5x Healing Stream, Wrath of Air, Totem of wrath + 4 searing, stoneskin and strength of earth, use bloodlust plus elemental mastery plus trinket.
  3. Start lightning him up with LB + CL. Around 50% he will start to drain a crystal, at this point you probably haven't had to heal yet, so keep blasting him away - if his AoE starts hurting heal but theres a good chance you can burn him down without having to heal at all.

Vexallus This fight was tricky the first few times, here are the secrets.

  1. Drop totems - 5x healing stream, 1x wrath of air + 4x grounding, stoneskin/strength of earth, totem of wrath + 4x searing
  2. Use LIGHTNING SHIELD - This is SUPER important, no water shield for this fight!
  3. Bloodlust, elemental mastery, trinket, etc.
  4. Now the important part - start nuking the crap out of him, he will start to unleash energy - at first it wont matter much, but at some point during him doing this, you'll see all 5 shamans start to lose health fairly quick, IMMEDIATELY start casting chain heal, spam it until your shamans are all full health again - even if hes only at 20% health left. If you don't heal at this point you will die very fast and it wont matter if hes at 5% health or not. Once you use a couple chain heals the crazy damage will go away long enough to finish blasting him down.

Priestess Delrissa I found this to be the easiest fight in the dungeon with 5 shamans.

  1. Most important - 5 tremor totems, stagger them ~.5s apart - you will basically be immune to fear (the priestess does an aoe fear). Also 5x grounding totems as you will almost always get 2-3 casters in the group you fight. Aside from that the standard totem of wrath + 4x searing, and I use 5x mana spring in case I get low on mana.
  2. Figure out who to kill first. If there is a naga warrior, he will use mortal strike, kill him first. If there is an engineer, kill him second (or first if no naga warrior). If there is a bloodelf paladin, kill him after the warrior or engineer. Leave casters for last.
  3. Use elemental master + trinket, and then LB + CL the first target - this should kill the first target instantly plus do some good damage to the second target. Immediately switch to the second target and start nuking him. Usually you can take down 2 targets by the time they even reach you. About now you may need to drop 5 more grounding totems. Use purge on your targets if you see a renew on them so they don't get healed back to full.
  4. At this point its pretty easy. If you have any more melee taking you down, kill them first (usually a rogue, though he hits pretty mild). Once I'm down to all casters left I generally kill the priestess first, then everyone else.

Kael'thas Sunstrider This boss is also EXTREMELY easy. Almost ridiculously easy.

  1. Most important thing here is 5x grounding totems. I also use 5x mana spring to keep my mana up, and then totem of wrath/searing, and wrath of air.
  2. Use ele mastery + trinket, bloodlust, and start spamming him with LB + CL. He will sit and throw fireballs at you that just get eaten up by your groundings. If you're down to 1 grounding, drop 5 new ones. Keep spamming him as fast as you can and he will enter phase 2 (gravity lapse) without even summoning an add.
  3. Once he uses gravity lapse, IMMEDIATELY put your clones back on follow and swim away from the big bubbles as fast as possible. Turn around, use 5x earth shock on him for some DPS, stay away from the bubbles and use chain heal as often as you need to to stay alive with the dot on your guys. Turn and use 5x earth shock as often as possible.
  4. Once gravity lapse ends, just nuke him as fast as possible while hes sitting there resting and you should be able to kill him before he does anything else at all.
