Introduction
This page is intended to discuss character and profession leveling in World of Warcraft with a multiboxing setup.
Sub-sections of this page:
Leveling characters
In general, you level characters by doing quests, grinding and/or instances. Each have their pros and contras.
Quests
Topics:
Pros:
- Relatively quick leveling
- You get gear as rewards
- Gain reputation
Cons:
- Lots of running from point to point
- Gather quests are a pain and you should usually avoid them
- You only get barely enough money to buy your skills. There's not much money left for items, potions, repairs, etc. This means you'll probably send money from your main to your multibox characters.
Grinding
Unless you have lots of mobs and/or if they are elite mobs, this is usually not a good method for multibox leveling. This is because you kill mobs quite quickly and they usually don't respawn quick enough. Plus: it's boring and gives a relatively low xp amount.
Instances
Pros:
- Just as quick as doing quests or maybe slightly slower.
- Very good green item drops that you can use or sell for a lot of gold
- Blue item drops
- Good XP, because you're killing elite mobs
Cons:
- You often don't gain reputation (unless you're doing Burning Crusade instances)
- Might be slightly slower than doing quests (depends on the quest area: the amount of running and the amount of gathering quests in a zone)
