Level 45-55 LBRS
The Idea
Having trolled the forums for many months now I have noticed that many boxers prefer to instance boost using a level 70 to level their clones to 45. I myself leveled this way with my 4x shamans and level 70 Prot pally. However I found at level 45-55 the consensus was that it is better to take up questing than boosting in the higher instance. Not yet ready to give up the Pally Prot power I picked up my sword and shield and grabbed my pack of ghostwolfs and headed to scholo, strat, brd, and finally finding the exp gold mine that is the first 3 rooms of LBRS. My clones were 46 when I started in LBRS and I was able to level them to 47 in 1hr 32mins which included time learning the instance! After I got my strategy down I averaged 1.5hrs / level all the way to 55 where it began to slow to about 2hr/level, still very fast imo.
The Requirements
level 70 protection pally I dont think any other class would be able to make the exp/hour better than questing
2+ clones that can heal My setup was 4 elemental shamans however 2 specced healers would most likely be able to keep the pally topped up
No gear requirements!!! my pally was only 1day played at 70 when i started with mostly greens and AH blues + sporregar rep shield
The Strategy
Pull One: Leave your clones at the entrance. there are a few pats that can complicate things spend a few minutes learning where they are. Run into the first room and up the ramp to the right do not aggro any mobs at this time. Turn right and the top of the ramp and fall onto the platform below. Turn to the right and continue up the second ramp until you come to 3 groups of mobs. Target the mob in the back left group. Turn the camera 180 and wait for a pat to come through the door. Cast AS and turn around running towards the entrance grabbing the other set of mobs. optional: as you run back to the door of this room target a caster near the worgs on your right and pull him using Mana tap, that is if you're not Alliance scum ;) Continue back to your lowbies pulling most of the mobs in the first room however do this quickly as the Scarshield Raider will cast a net on you which is bad m'kay. Once in you are close to your lowbies but not yet in line of sight or aggro range drop your first consecrate max rank or rank 1 in order to gather some initial threat while backing towards your lowbies until in line of sight of heals. I prefer to judge wisdom and use seal of wisdom to keep my mana 100% and keep spamming max rank consecrate and holy shield.
Pull two: This is a small optional pull and should be used to increase the individual run time to prevent instance lockout. Run into the first room and continue heading straight until you reach a group of 4 off on their lonesome in the back of the room. Pull with AS immediately turning around and running into the three smaller room with 3-4 mobs in each room. Continue back to your lowbies and own this small pull. This pull can actually be quite annoying as the Scarshield Acolyte will heal and cast renew.
Pull three: Run into the second room and continue down the ramp where the worgs were/are depending on if you pulled them earlier. Continue through the door that the pat came through earlier during the first pull. It's important to get them on the first pull as waiting for them at this stage increases reset time. Continue into the larger open room and hug the wall to the left passing a second set of worgs and a Scarshield Raider. Run up to the next group but do not aggro them and stay to the right you will find two small stones here which if you stand near will allow you to be in line of sight of a group on the tier below you to your right. Cast AS and run back to the lowbies. This pull is difficult to learn however is fairly trivial if you know what to expect. The main problem is Scarshield Warlock which create a portal that continuly spawns imps and felhounds and occasionally a rare felguard until the summoning warlock is dead. Not much of threat to your pally however if a heal lands right as a demon spawns your lowbie will receive the initial threat. To counter this I typically try to keep the mobs outside of the first entrance room with the lowbies so that the demons have to run through consecration to get to the lowbies. I also only heal when consecration is up. The portal also has a rare chance to spawn a felguard which does have a good deal of hitpoints and an aoe attack. Tank him out of range of his aoe and he should pose no problems and has a few bop blues and always at least drops a green.
Pull four: For those of you who love a challenge here is where you will find it. Run to where you pulled the third group. Look across the chasm at the 3-4 trolls. jump up onto the boxes and then the ledge behind them making your way in range of the trolls. Take note if there is a Smolderthorn Shadow Priest as you will want to down him fast hex is bad m'kay. Return to your lowbies and tank and spank the massive pull you just made. Try to kill the Shadow priest first I used a macro to target him and focus him in order to make sure he died immediately.
Final thoughts
Typically I do pulls 1 and 3 in about 9-10 mins 5 times and then do something else while my instance timer resets. These two pulls are definitely the best exp/hr and the break will help you if you get burnt out from the mindless killing. Also this netted me about 1.3k gold over the 10 levels selling the grays, runecloth, and 3 boe blues. I disenchanted the boe greens and old school set items that dropped.
