Level Cleared - Group Composition - Short Comment
Level 64 - 1x Paladin (Tank), 1x Shaman (Healer), 3x Mage (DPS) - 3x Sheep made this run much easier to handle. See tips and tactics.
Level 63/64 - 1x protection Paladin (lvl 64), 4x elemental Shaman (lvl 63) - Video
Level 62/61 - 1x protection Paladin (lvl 62), 4x elemental Shaman (lvl 61)
Level 63 - 1x protection Paladin, 2x Mage, 2x Shaman (1 elemental, 1 resto)
Level 63 - 5x Shaman - Burn down, DPS is king. Maker doesn't MC when you burn fast enough, Broggok barely reaches you when you nuke him (waves are a bit chaotic before, CL, LB, thunderstorm spam helps :p) and lastly the Breaker dies 2 sec after he's released.
Level 62/64 - 4x Death Knight (Lvl 62), 1x Shaman (Lvl 64 resto) - proximity mines suck when melee boxing
Tips and Tactics
Bosses
The Maker
- DPS The Maker down as fast as possible.
- He has a mind control. If one of the toons get MCed, sheep then continue DPS on the boss.
- He's a demon so if you have a paladin, exorcism works.
- the Diamond-core Sledgehammer is the first decent spell damage mace you'll find in TBC. Might be worth running this boss several times for your shamans, paladins and shadow-priests.
Fel orc waves before Broggok
- This is pretty tricky and made me happy that I picked 3x Mages. Wave 1 has 3 mobs coming at you. Sheep, CC as many of them as you can. Luckily for myself, I sheeped all/most of them. Took them down one at a time and took my time to conserve mana. Wave 2 has 3 mobs, Wave 3 has 4 and Wave 4 and another 4. I've noticed that Wave 4 didn't wait for all of Wave 3 to die.
- After the first wave you get Fel Orc Neophytes which should be taken down first. They enrage and charge random party members which can be bad.
- Alternately, with no CC, a protection paladin can tank all of the mobs. However, due to the gauntlet style of the fight, use your most mana efficient dps/healing in order to conserve mana for the boss.
- They do not hit hard on your paladin, healing shouldn't be too much of an issue if you take your time, consecrate, stun the first mob, and burn him down, 1 last mob to handle, which greatly improves the speed here.
- If you're running a 1x paladin 4x shaman setup and you're low on mana before engaging Broggok himself then drop 3 healing totems, a mana spring totem, and windfury. Don't kill the last mob of the last wave but judge him with either light or wisdom and recast the other seal. Your paladin will receive low damage which will be healed by the healing totems. Spiritual attunement will restore mana for that. Mana Spring totem will restore mana to your whole party and windfury will give your paladin a couple of extra attacks to keep the light/wisdom judgement up. You can even toss in a holy shield here and there. By the time the mob dies and Broggok shows up you'll have plenty of mana to burn him down.
Broggok
- Finally Broggok. If you have a Shaman, now would be a good time to drop a Poison cleansing totem. Spank and Tank.
- He drops poison clouds which expand where he's standing/floating so your tank needs to move him around a bit. Pre-plan this when you're positioning your ranged dps.
- The hardest part is the 4 groups of mobs.
- He drops a very interesting healing trinket Auslese's Light Channeler
Keli'dan the Breaker
- There are 5 mobs that you have to kill first.
- If you have a Paladin or Priest, put up Shadow Resist.
- Sheep, CC as many as you can.
- The 5 mobs do a debuff which increases your shadow damage taken by 1000. It's a magic effect so dispel/cleanse it.
- After all 5 are dead, time to attack the boss. Have the boss face AWAY from your group.
- Again, Dispel any effect as fast as you can.
- Keep all your toons maxed out on health.
- He will shout out "Get over here" (or something similiar), grabs your group and run away... he's about to do an AOE. Alternately, you can tank the boss at max spell range, and just run away with the tank.
- Run back, stop your toons from following, face him away from the group and repeat.
- There's a blue crack in the ground in one of the corners of the boss' chambers which puffs green smoke. It gives you the Rage of Magtheridon buff which increases melee attack speed, ranged attack speed and spell casting by 30%. Lasts 30 seconds.
