Here is a way to boost lowbies using high-level pets:

1) Group at least two lowbies together. This is essential, it doesn't work with just one lowbie.

2) Follow the lowbies with high-level warlocks/hunters, but NOT GROUPED with the lowbies. Level difference does not matter between lowbies and highbies.

3) Tag mob with the lowbies, doing at least 1 point of damage.

4) Kill mob with the pets. Don't use any damage abilities of the warlock or hunter, just the pets.

5) Receive full XP for the kill. Split among your lowbies as normal with grouping.

Works really well when the lowbies have an instant cast spell that does immediate damage (like Fire Blast or Moonfire). You can cut through mobs pretty fast. Assuming you are using 70 level pets, you'll one or two shot most things through about 25-30 levels. Then it slows down to three or more shots and you'll also start having to use your lowbie abilities for more than just tagging. If available, add more hunters/warlocks to keep the good times rolling.

Note that you will hit a maximum XP per mob for any target 5 levels above your lowbie. Your level 1 lowbie will earn the exact same experience killing a level 65 monster as they will killing a level 6 monster.
