Auchindoun: Mana-Tombs
From Dual-Boxing Wiki
Level Cleared - Group Composition - Short Comment
64/63 - Paladin (tank), Druid (resto), Priest (shadow), Warlock (destro), Hunter (bm) - None of the trash in this instance gave me any problem at all. First 2 bosses were mostly just tank and spank with a little AOE/Party healing. Prince was pretty easy also but I used a specific macro to target the beacons.
66 - Paladin, Shaman x 4 - Trash is more of a concern at first. Bosses are fine with tactics below.
66 - Shaman x 5 - At 66 this instance is incredibly easy with 5 shamans. The biggest trick is to make sure on most (or every pull) to drop 5 staggered Tremor Totems, and 5 grounding totems.
Tips and Tactics
1. Grounding totem is definitely awesome for this whole instance: there are so many casters here, and most if not all of them are suceptible to grounding totem. I cleared it with 3 shamans and I don't think i ate a single mana burn.
2. The Nexus Terror's do mass fears so be ready for them. They can be stunned. The best result for me was to use back to back Chain Lightnings with Elemental Overload and Trinkets. You can taunt them off the casters.
With 5 staggered tremor totems the nexus terrors aren't an issue at all...If they do fear, it only lasts for 1/3 second or so, then just hit your follow macro to make sure everyone is facing the same direction again and keep going. With 5 shamans I took them down 90% of the time before they even used a fear, even without trinks, blood fury, or elemental mastery. - Hachoo
Bosses
Pandemonius
- (pally + shammys) - Keep grounding totems up, so he wont touch your alts. Position the totems close enough for the pally to be in range, this way, easy easy boss. Did this guy on lvl 66, after few whipes I noticed my pally being out of range and changing this made the difference.
- (5 shamans) - Keep up grounding totems, use elemental mastery + trinket + blood fury if you have it, and go to town. I just spammed LB + CL and threw in a chain heal periodically and took him down without losing any shamans at all. Just make sure to drop a new set of grounding totems midway through the fight. I didn't use any earth elementals on this one.
Tavarok
- (prot warr, resto shaman + 3 frost mages) - The most important thing to keep an eye on here is range, Earthquake can really be a pain if a target is hit by Crystal Prison in a short period of time to, my mages had 36 yards on their frostbolt and earthquake have 35 yard range, so somehow i found the magical range so my mages could shoot frostbolts without getting hitted by earthquake, when this is done, the fight is pretty easy and straight forward. Just make sure that everyone is at min. 50% hp all the time.
- Tavorok doesn't hit terribly hard so it's not difficult to swap between healing your tank and healing your alts. My Pally/4XShaman team did fine. I put the Shaman on line and just duked it out with him. Make sure you have a macro for self heals on your toons if they are Shaman and you'll be fine.
- (5 shamans) - I dropped 1 earth elemental on this fight, and it worked great. He killed my elemental just as I was finishing taking him down. No losses. As always elemental mastery + trinket are your friend.
Nexus-Prince Shaffar
- Keep grounding totems down as much as possible, they will greatly reduce incoming damage
- kill his adds fast, if they stay for too long they will spawn elites. He respawns more adds peridically, kill these fast also.
- The biggest challenge here is keeping your casters facing the boss. He blinks all over the place and also frost nova's your tank, making it difficult to manage facing. You may have to do some manual facing at some point during this fight.
- Recommend having a targetting macro to pick up the adds whenever they appear. With ranged held at a distance and tanked around where he stands, blinking isn't an issue.
- (5 shamans) - just to be safe, on this one I dropped 3 earth elementals - no issues with this boss at all. I dropped the 3 elementals, backed up a bit, dropped the rest of my totems, and started going to town on him. The elementals held aggro the entire time and he never blinked out of range of my shamans or behind them. His adds didn't even start appearing until just before I killed him (1 add that I easily took down after the prince).
