I have 8 cores. I want 1 account running for 5 cores and another core for my OS. Can one of you lovely vets point me in a good direction to a thread?
I've been searching... Must have been in the wrong spot, obviously... :P Thanks in advance.

You likely have four physical cores and four logical cores.
A physical core can handle a process on its own, but a logical core would not work well alone.
Ideally, you would pair a physical core with a logical core for a process.
You could go with Cores 1/2 (or sometimes listed as 0/1) on the first character.
And then the remaining cores on the others.
You can put all cores on everything, and let Windows decide which core needs to work on what.
I know there is a command you can use in your Configuration file, in the WTF folder, to determine which processors are used.
But am not sure off hand what that command is.
If you're using a program like Keyclone or IS Boxer, you can configure which cores are used from within your boxing program.
Found a few threads, on setting your cores:

Thanks a bunch, Ualaa!
I am using ISBoxer, BTW.
And you were right about my cores, Ualaa.
Now I just need to figure out how to assign the WoW's to their respective cores. Time to read!

You're right, Sajuuk.
And it's all too easy to make those assumptions.
If you want to manually set them...
Open up the Toolkit.
Expand your character sets (top left pane) and select your set in that window.
In the lower left pane, click on the "1" under Slots (might have to expand Slots the first time).
The second tab is performance.
In general, I set the slaves to have no more than 20 FPS.
But you can also set which CPU cores are used on which character.
I've personally gone (with four physical and four logical cores) with:
Cores 1-6, on all of the slaves & Cores 7-8 on the toon that I usually drive with.
My logic being, windows and whatever else is running is likely to be on the first core, and all of the slaves have three cores/logical cores.
Meanwhile the active window will run smoothly with a core/logical core on that, which does nothing else.
You can run the CPU strategy wizard, under the Wizards menu.
Each of the options, gives a bit of a write up on what they do.
