(Mmmmaliteration, that was) They caught the error and removed the ads, and even issued a statement about it. Mistakes are human; a timely, professional response is optional. there was a mistake with the advertising and a gold selling advert managed to be displayed on the official wow forums. blizzard very quickly removed it and issued a post.

Recently, there was a temporary error with our forum advertisements that caused a gold-selling ad to be displayed. At this time, we have resolved this error. Our stance, which is fully explained in the statement below, remains firmly against the buying or selling of gold, and we may take action against accounts that are involved in these activities.

It's a major mistake because no one reviewed the ad before allowing it on the site. I read a write up somewhere on why this never should have happened given the system they are using, but it did.

P.S. Lighten up and live a little. Even more professional would have been the ability to laugh at ones self. Don't be such a stuffy curmudgeon.

P.S.2: They deserve a little negative abuse right now anyways. Here I sit and stare at my computer waiting for the servers to come up, because they can't get this patch right.
