Default Video Settings Addon - DynamicCam

I just came across a new addon that will be great for multiboxing if you don't have anything set up yet. And I've just started my 7 day trial with ISBoxer, so this is coming from someone who has only used hotkey. The addon is called DynamicCam. It's very new, so it has some bugs to work out on a couple things, but for multiboxing I like it alot.

Basically, it saves camera views for a bunch of scenarios, and lets you change them for each one. Example - When you mount up, it can zoom out and hide your UI, and when you land it can zoom in. Then you walk indoors, it can change so you look over your shoulder and see the npc easier. Then (here's the best feature for raiders!) when you enter combat, your toon is lowered down on your screen so that the boss takes up most the screen as opposed to you seeing only the lower half of him, which the patch has caused with having less zoom out available. The thing I like about it for boxing is that my cameras all get reset every time i change a scenario, which there are many of. In the past I could have one toon get wonky and my camera would be looking at him and not from behind, which is a pain (I'm sure there are easy ways around this in the past, but I'm a nub). There you go, hope it helps someone else. First time poster here, but have read the forums over the years. You all rock!

Hello, welcome. However, you didn't provide a link.

It also doesn't have much to do with video settings, just camera stuff.

I suppose the question is, does it provide anything above importing the config-cache.wtf camera variables.

    See http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/2...n-Zoom-WAY-out for reference.

With Legion, Blizzard has fully locked down the maximum distance at which your camera can be pulled back from your character, at 28.5 yards,. This is down from 30 yards which was the old maximum value when using the in-game interface options slider, and 50 yards which was achievable only through directly editing one of the two CVars which were associated with the camera distance.

Over the past several months there have been numerous threads which have reached their cap along with thousands of posts between both the beta and live general forums of players wanting this changed back.

Yeah i hate the change alot, which is why I initially latched on to this addon. One of the settings takes your toon from mid screen and can move it down til it's maybe 20% up from the bottom. So now the center of your screen is looking at the middle of a boss as opposed to its feet. You can't do a top down view like many raiders like, but it's much better than without the addon.

Well... Fiddled around with this addon for an hour or so tonight. There's a reason it says "BETA" in big, bold letters on the front page of the addon. It's buggy as hell. Several cases of camera stuck in a funky position or constantly spinning around in circles. For me, it's just too broken to be useful yet.

Second thing I notice is that it's not exactly easy to revert camera settings back to defaults. I had to reinstall the addon, reset it's profile to default, then disable each setting individually before I could uninstall it and actually not have vestigial remnants of the thing screwing with my views.

So, YMMV. The times when it did work leads me to believe it has some pretty nifty potential.

Yeah, I haven't had those problems, but the one I did have was simple. It would forget a setting each relog. But this whole topic is going to be an irritant for a while now since Blizzard has announced that they are removing the new action cam from the game for the time being because people are having the problems you are mentioning. So it may not be the addon, but a Blizzard issue. So yeah, I would definitely wait this one out til Blizz gets it going again and working right. It's a shame cause I think the new camera system had great potential.

That makes sense as the addon says it just helps you make use of the new "Legion camera features" or some such. Will be interesting to see how it turns out, fo sho.
