Thread: Wow upgrading

    Default Wow upgrading

I don't know if anyone knows this - I didn't, and found out by accident.

I made a new battle.net for raf, linked to my main (just 1 account) to get some super fast levels before Legion hits.

Usually if you upgrade a starter edition account it can take up to 72 hours for restrictions to lift.. but if you gift the first expansion digitally via the online store (from your main account) where it emails the code to the new account I was able to log in with zero restrictions as soon as the code was applied.. took 5 minutes, and the account was considered fully upgraded in account management.

Indeed. If you upgrade with a code that you had already purchased prior to upgrading, then there you don't have to wait for full access to the account(s). I've always used game keys that I had purchased at a prior date and have never had to wait for any restrictions to be lifted from any of my accounts (all 30+ of them I've had over the years).
Do not send me a PM if what you want to talk about isn't absolutely private.
Ask your questions on the forum where others can also benefit from the information.

Wish I had known earlier, to save me the trip into town for a boxed copy to get around it!
