I have geared all my toons through tanaan jungle. So much that I really don't want to go back there. After the 695 mark I got some lucky items during the time walking event cache along with the shipyard/follower garrison missions on Raid Finder/Normal cache. Doing kazzak is also a plus.

Once geared around 695, I bought those champion's something that gives 1k conquest / 1k honor item for all my toons and filled them with the slots that were missing that needs to improve. (which were not many, weapon + 2-3 items at most per character) after that you do need to raid normals or go Mythic Dungeons. My warrior has quite a lot of HFC normal gear since I raided. Priest got some, but all my hunters has 0 raid gear and sitting around 710 item level. (Warrior has most of her class trinket 3/5 tier and sitting around 716) Don't forget to upgrade those 695 baeful gear with valor, and also don't forget those crafted gear which helps quite a bit. (up till 3 though so chose your slots wisely)
