Default New Monitor on the Market

LG just released (or is about to release in some regions) the 34UM95 34" (3440x1440) large format 21:9 monitor... and this thing is f'ing sexy.

    Wow, that is amazing.

As someone who is still on a single monitor setup, I could only dream of having a couple of those and being surrounded by screen space.

As you said tho, the price is pushing it... That figure puts it at about 80% of my PC cost... :-/

In spite of my willingness to sink thousands into my computer at upgrade time, I won't do that for monitors, lol.

Another thing is I have 3 27 inchers (<300 apiece ) and its almost (if not quite) too wide. I suppose you could sit further back, though.

I suppose you could just get a single huge monitor like this (and that might be nice) having multiple screen's is nice, for organizational purposes.

Isn't it weird that I'm like 'thats too expensive' when I immediately admit to spending 900 dollars on the monitors I have?

I would say unfortunately, it only works with the New Mac Pros via Thunderbolt. I mean, come on!!!!!!!!

Oh sorry, there are other links on that site to different version, I just freaked out when I saw Mac Only.

    It looks amazing.

Asus is releasing the first ROG monitor "Republic of Gamers" very soon aswell.
It is a TN panel though, so if you can't live with that, I guess this LG monitor is very tasty.

The reason I would choose the Asus is because of the 144hz and 1ms GTG with a 2560 x 1440 resolution, on a 27" monitor with G-sync (only applies to Nvidia users). Also it is perfectly designed for additional monitors due to its very slim design.
That would just be an epic gaming expirience.

2 weeks ago my good old samsung broke after 5 years and I went out to buy a new monitor. Was tempted to buy the little brother (34Um65), but seeing it in the store made me wonder how in the world I had to put that on my desk, alongside my other monitors. I kinda like the 45 degree setup of my 27'' monitors. Didn't seem that comfortable at all to me, and that was only the smaller one.

Damn, I went out and got this: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...view,3744.html (Dell UltraSharp 32 Ultra HD Monitor)
On sale for $2200 at microcenter. I saw the LG there, it seemed really wide in person, and they didn't have them in stock.

    It's nuts. I had 4x D3's at 1920x1080, all tiled.

Runs at 60hz with displayport 1.2 at 3840x2160. At first it was only running at 30mhz, I just had to change a setting on the monitor's control panel to make the port use Displayport 1.2 to get it to 60Hz thankfully.

    I have 6 monitors about like this: 1920 X 1200 and ips

Doubt I will need to upgrade anytime soon. And for $1200 seems a good enough deal.

    That monitor looks sweet.

The Samsung 305T (a 30.5" widescreen) was over a $1000, and this one looks even better.
I'm using a pair of 27" Samsung ~$300 each, at the moment.
