    Default WoW Trading Card Game

Apparently you could weigh the decks to find out which have loot cards. All those cases and packs of cards I bought on ebay with a very low loot card drop rate are starting to make sense.

All decks had the same number of cards, just that loot cards contained the scratch-off stuff, which made them weigh different. Now that they started adding the scratch-off stuff to the non-winning extra card as well, they can no longer weigh the packs to tell if they have loot.

These were not just at eBay, Target and Walmart also sold decks and cases from 3rd party companies.

Yesterday I bought 10 decks and received 6 loot cards, simply amazing.
    4 x Sand Scarab
1 x Bloat the Bubble Fish
    1 x Throwing Starfish

Anyone want a free Sand Scarab pet?

Ahh!! This explains a lot to me!

I bought tons of TCG packs at Target and always wondered why I never got loot cards. I mean, perhaps the first 5-6 packs I bought I got 1 or 2 loot cards. But since those early purchases, I've never been able to get one. It was so bad that I stopped buying them.

This is exactly the reason that MTG does foils of commons and lands as well. Foils make a pack heavier just like the scratch-off. My SO knew the owner of a card shop that used to spend a lot of time weighing Pokemon cards and opening 2/3rds of the packs that she figured out had the expensive foils in them. She thought somehow that leaving 1/3rd of them alone would alleviate suspicion.
