Monks aren't so hot for pvp. One mage can kite me to infinity, so embarassing. With only one range attack and a weak one you are pretty much rooted in place all the time. I'm sure if I set them up with more abilities hotkeyed I could do better, but I'm just not seeing it. DPS is kinda low too.

Should have played a Gnome or human.. you have the racial ability that breaks mage CCs and the talent http://www.wowhead.com/spell=116841.. plus flying tiger kick+leg sweep will stop them..you also have http://www.wowhead.com/spell=116095 to keep them slow, if one of your guys snares.. the next toon will root him with it. I own people in lower level BGs with mine.. and they can't kill me.. my passive healing is insane! I run with the same thing I do PvE, tank healer and 3 dps.. im sure its not optimal.

I though about bring them all as healer at some point.. kind of same idea as 5 resto druids. I think the class is just so new that its kind of hard to even know HOW to play them yet.. let alone come up with a better macro or ability managment yet.

Why would you compare level 90 BGs to 'low level' BGs? Granted, Multibocks didn't happen to mention what level he's at in the initial post, so for all I know you could both be talking about battlegrounds at level 52.

No, I'm only 89 on my monks. I just don't see them being any boxer good. They might shine being played directly, but a group of them blows so far.

I agree with Lyon, there's just too much to this class to be able to macro it all.

Yeah, when I was playing one on beta, I was trying to brainstorm macroing them and it seemed like a pretty big cluster#$%# {from a PvE point of view anyway, I'm sure PvP would only be worse}. And that coming from me, someone who loves to make things overly complicated. I'm sure it could be done, but it's sounding like as a class overall they aren't impressive enough to waste the time on.

Have you tried not macroing your abilities and just playing them with the IS FTL DPS keys?

You'd have to make them all the same class, round robin your interrupts and slows, but I'm sure that would be easier then trying to come up with a single dps key to spam.

I was under the impression that he was "calling it early" in other words making a judgment based on him having bad experiences in lower lvl BGs.. he did not say he was 90... he also had wrong info.. there is more than one ranged attack. did you even read my complete post? So based on everything he said in his post...including the title.. i assumed he was NOt 90 yet. If he is.. then thats another story

EDIT: I now see that he is 89..so I'm kind of right. But honestly.. i think it is way too early for anyone to call it!

Not really. When people start talking about how OP their team or their character is at any "low level battleground" is normally when I stop reading. Anyone who has ever done PvE or PvP at the top level of any expansion should be able to tell you the following:

Burning Crusade:
In terms of balance, levels 1 - 69 meant nothing compared to 70.

Wrath of the Lich King:
In terms of balance, levels 1 - 79 meant nothing compared to 80.

Cataclysm:
In terms of balance, levels 1 - 84 meant nothing compared to 85.

Mists of Pandaria:
In terms of balance, levels 1 - 89 mean nothing compared to level 90.

That is the way it's been and that is the way it will always be.

You don't think I know that? My post was not claiming that because I'm doing well at lower levels..that i think the class will be viable at 90. And his post did not say he was 90. My response to his post was to clarify some facts ( more than one ranged attack ). And that there are gap closers. And to give hope to those who might still be leveling monks. I know of one monk team at 90 clearing heroics, although not PvP, shows that they atleast dont completely suck.

In short, his post was doom and gloom and might discourage future monk teams. Mine was just to offer some ideas, based on his comments, how they can be used to overcome the faults he listed ( not enough ranged,,no way to keep a mage from kiting etc.. )

Based on many other threads, here on DB.com, NO team looks to be viable at 90 in PvP..but I take all that with a grain of salt and am someone who tries to have a positive outlook.

Dks are still nice, not something you can get a high rating with, but you can at least win arenas.
