    Default SSD Questions

Multi-Boxing ... Wiil SSD run better if only WoW on it?
That is it. I am just wondering if I have an SSD Boot drive and an SSD just for WoW if that is better than if I place 10-20 gigs extra on the WoW SSD?

Should SSD management software be on Boot drive?
Or does it not matter? I talked with Samsung, and they said it didn't matter, but I trust you all more!
I would just place it on another SSD in the system if not on the C drive.

Should an SSD Boot drive system image be made/stored on another SSD?
Or can I use it just the same to restore my computer if it is coming from a Western Digital 640 GB Black HD?
Just trying to finalize my build and want to get it right.

Should I make my first system image before I move the page file?
That is it. I do plan to move the page file to another SSD. I made sure to not have any other HDs connected when I installed Windows; because I read that can be a problem.

I just want to know if it will throw things off in a horrible way should that fateful day come and I have to use a system image.

Thanks for any experienced insight and advice,

    -Grail

Merged your three four threads with a single question each into one thread with three four questions. Much easier to keep track of things.

Sure, it will technically run better on its own drive but, with as fast as an SSD is you probably won't even notice a difference. Normally, you would put WoW on its own drive because a) it takes up a lot of space, and b) you're worried about wearing out the drive (even though these drives last a very long time).

I don't know why it would matter? Are you that low on space on your C: drive?

Intel SSD Toolbox takes up 100MB on my C: drive and the Corsair SSD I have doesn't even have software for it.

I don't know the answers to the other questions. If you can't find the answers here I would search for the answers on a real hardware forum.

No, not that low. Thanks MiRai! Just not sure I trust it. *chuckles*

Also, I am kind of trying to keep the C drive paired down as it is a 64 GB and after over provisioning really just a 52 GB.

Already down to only 21.5 GB free after Windows, McAfee, etc. But really it isn't a matter of space.

    Thanks Again,

Do you use Windows Hibernation? If not, turn it off and save gigabytes worth of space.

Sorry, MiRai, I just added another SSD Question before I saw you had merged my first three. And as far as making it easier... I was like "Where did they go!"

    LOL

p.s. actually while the last question I asked involved SSDs it was probably more of a page file question.

How hot are SSD's running for others?

    In CPUID Hardware Monitor..

My CPU is 40c, give or take.
While boxing... it will climb to 60c, give or take.

My video card shows as 39c.

My SSD's both show as 128c, which seems relatively hot.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

SSDs should be warm to the touch, but not hot. I don't think all SSDs actually let you monitor their temps so... you're most likely getting false readings as 128C would melt your hand if you touched it.
