Default Dual boxing, 1 PC 2 Screens

Hi guys, having a little bit of trouble getting the functionality that I want from this brilliant program at the moment.

I have a 1 PC 2 monitor setup, account 1 is a gunslinger and is FIXED to monitor one. account 2 is a commando and is FIXED to monitor two.

I have it at the moment so that mouse over gives window focus, and like the fact that each account is fixed to one screen only.

What I want to do is so that on account 1, keypresses are as normal. But for when I want to use account 2 - I can just press "SHIFT" + normal keypresses and it will be sent to account 2 rather than account 1, regardless of focus.

I have seen other peoples guides, but I don't think they appreciate my state of noob and I just get totally confused. I love this software, and all I want to do is get this functionality (else it is awesome anyhow, just want to be more efficient is all!).

Please help...in as easy to follow steps as is possible!

    Regards, Nubble

    Which software are you using?
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

When you add a mapped key, it has a target.

In Warcraft (and it would likely be very similar in Star Wars), Window: Current is your active character.
And Window: Others w/ Current, refers to your other windows.

Anything you push, which is not a hotkey for a mapped key, will go to the current window only.
So for the most part, you're good as is.

Take advantage of the "Add Many Mapped Keys" function in the IS Boxer Toolkit.
You would want whatever keybinds you would like to be broadcast.
With a modifier of Shift + Whatever key.
And to send that keystroke (without the Shift) to the other window.

If you plan to always lead with Slot 1, you could assign the Shift + Whatever hotkey, to broadcast that hotkey to Slot 2 only.
If you plan on leading with either window, choose the "Others Without Current" as the target.

Once you're done, File Menu > Export to Inner Space.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

For broadcasting to the "other" window you set the target to Window: Others w/o Current.

    Yeah...

Once you have it configured, Others w/Current displays as All.
And Others w/o Current displays as Others.
And Current window displays as Self.

I am trying desperately to know what any one of you guys is talking about...but i just cant seem to find the setting that you guys are referring to!

Please, treat me as a complete novice to this software and if at all possible, give me a run down of exactly what/how/where I create these so called key maps!

Thank you so much for your replies this far, they are MUCH appreciated !

This is assuming you are using Warcraft, which I know you're not.
But I don't have Star Wars, so cannot give you the exact information for that game.

    Start up: IS Boxer Toolkit.

    In the top left pane:
Left click on the + to the left of Key Maps.
You should see something like: Control + Combat + Non-Combat.

    In the top left pane:
    Left click on Combat.

    In the bottom left pane:
Expand your Mapped Keys, by clicking the + (if it shows - Mapped Keys, and the list then it is already expanded).

If you left click on the first one...
    You should see Hotkey: 1
    One Step.

Clicking on the "1" under steps (lower left pane)...
In the lower right pane you get some information.
In Warcraft you have a mapped key for assisting the current window.
And then it sends "1" to all windows.
You can click on the Assist Me and the 1 > All, to see the commands.

You'll want to change the 1 > All, to be 1 > Current Window.
Do this by left clicking on the 1 > All, in the lower right pane.
And in the far right, you see Target, and in the drop down box Window: All w/ Current.
    Change that to Window: Current.

    What this does...
No matter what window you're in, when you press "1".
It sends "1" to the current window, and does nothing for the secondary window.

You will want to do the same, with each of the mapped keys that you use.
If something is not listed as a mapped key, then don't worry about it... as that is not broadcast to the second window and by default is current window only.

Once you're done that, you need to add mapped keys that will affect the second window only.
I'll assume you will be using "1", as one of your keys.
Even if you're not, it's probably easier to make a copy and edit it.
In the lower left window, Right click on DPS 1 (or whatever the first option is called).
    Select Make Copy.
At the very bottom, we have just made "Copy of DPS 1".
Left click on this mapped key.
In the bottom right pane, it says Hotkey.
Left Click the Arrow to the right of your hotkey.
Press and hold Shift, and press the desired hotkey (Shift + 1).
You can repeat the process for any hot key you desire (Shift + J) or whatever.
    Left Click on OK.
Left click on the "1", under Steps in the bottom left pane.
We need to edit the "1 > Self", so left click on that (in the bottom right pane).
Change the target from: Window: Current to Window: All w/o Current.
Repeat this process for each desired hot key.

Once done, File Menu > Export to Inner Space.

    This gets you...

Push any key, and it affects the active screen only.
    IE, whichever screen has focus.

And push the same hotkey (anything you configured for Shift + Hotkey) but with SHIFT held.
And the action is sent to the non-active window.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

You could also head to: http://isboxer.com/index.php/chat

    That's live support.
Basically say what your issue is, and stick around for a bit so someone can answer you.

A lot of people will have the window/tab open, but be doing other things.
So, don't close the window if there's no response...

Thats brilliant guys, thanks so much

Got roughly the functionality I would like now, and starting to understand the program a bit better. Also nice that I realised you can update keybinds etc via ISBoxer LIVE rather than having to reload SWTOR each change. Yay!
