Yeah, that's damn sexy. I can imagine some very cool stuff with the USB smart PSU as well, though I certainly hope it's more than just grafting on basic UPS functionality.

Yeah, i mean it's supposed to be the "ultimate" board, but by gimping the ram slots, they force people to run 64gb usable maximum ram.

I guess that the cpu sockets are so damn big that there isn't much room to work with. But why add the other 4 slots to the second CPU socket? And Seriously, why only 6 SATA connectors? It looks like there's more pads but they don't seem to be filled up... If I was gonna make a board like that, I'd figure out how to get a minimum of 4 sata 6gb/s for a nice SSD Raid of, say 4 Vertex 3s... Id like to see 2GB/s raid speed....

yeah, DIMM config does seem a bit wierd/disappointing. Sajuuk, there are 12 slots, but not 16 as I would have expected (2x Quad chan per CPU). The single-CPU classy only has 4 slots, which was also quite disappointing.
But definitely want one of these if the bank budget can be stretched that far

    Derp.

Meh, with the high density DIMMs available for cheap now most people don't need that many slots anyways. But it's THE EXTREEEEEEEEEEME board.

Even though most people will only use 8 of the available slots, it's the principle of the thing. IMO, having 12 slots is either a waste of 4 slots, cause honestly who is going to go that route given the number of ram channels, or the slots are a missed opportunity to be the "uber" board.
