Thread: My new rig

  1. #1

    Default My new rig

Thank you all for the help with picking out parts recently for my new tower. Honestly couldn't have done it without your help. The following is the list of what all I selected, the final price is after discounts I managed to get on some of the parts and grabbed a few of them while they were on sell. I went over my initial budget, but pulled some overtime to stretch that budget further.

I came very close to getting new 3.0 video cards instead of the one I got, but am happy with this one for now and will add another for an SLI setup hopefully soon. With V-Sync on in my games with everything maxed out on WoW and SWToR (aside from the planet density :/) I can maintain a solid 60FPS, lowest is around 35 during heavy boss fights in raids, and without it I'm pulling over 130FPS, but too much screen tearing for my tastes, so it stays on.

CPU stays in the low temp range even while gaming and even with all the fans, it is surprisingly quite. I would have gone with a water cooling setup, but I'm not the only one that uses this computer and it stays on almost all the time. Kids running around it too was the major factor.

Again, thank you all for the help and here she is:

The SSD mounts can actually hold 2 SSDs on one, but I did not see that when I purchased two of them. So instead of mounting both drives on one to cut down on space, I used each mount and have one SSD on each to avoid overheating of the drives and I will add more SSDs to the case later on when the cost of them drops.

Running it on a WiFi adapter connected to my own personal router from my house next door. I don't have the internet set up at my office, not yet anyway.
