    Default Cross-realm grouping (Real-ID only)

(New Real ID Party Available ) http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/2838414159

I was wondering if people on here would give out their real name (rhetorical, don't do it now), (again, rhretoritcal, don't do it now) if it could mean you could group with other boxers? I would do it in an heartbeat if it meant no real names, and not 100% tracking where someone is online (in BNet world). Also, it would be better for us 5 boxers in AV or IOC, but BGs aren't until later, if at all. Also, it is ONLY same faction. That is crap, just cause my lore for my char hates another char, doesn't mean that I shouldn't be able to play with friendly people of different factions.

Thoughts, can only do 5 mans, but can do heroics that some people are finding harder (not the studdly people, but I can't box a heroic and have fun). So maybe 2 DPS and a tank and 1 DPS and healer? Might be a lot of work to do tanking and a lot of other things. Maybe park healer and just use macros for it, and 1 tank and healer and 3 DPS. Then switch off next run, so the tank can have fun blowing stuff up. Seems like there might be a way to spread around the work and get stuff done faster than doing it alone.

Yeah, raids and BGs would be nice, but can't do that now. Imagine 1 5 man going to a GY and holding it (again IOC or AV) and one 5 man going for objectives (either back-capping since you get honor if they don't burn or going forward to guard/burn stuff). Or 10 man at start going and destorying everything at a place (workshop in IOC) or Galv/Balinda in AV. Or maybe even 10 going to end in AV (RH or AS). That sounds fun. One big limitation in BGs is people aren't willing to guard stuff and aren't willing to heal. Both of those things are covered by boxers.

Any thoughts about splitting up 5 mans for real-id groups from boxers?

They're trying to generate revenue out of a stale subscription base. It's not going up, but they need to increase profits !

    WTB GUILD TRANSFERS ALREADY!

Thanks for the link - I was looking for this feature since 4.2 came out and was unable to find anything written on it. I have characters on several servers..

Trying to invite my own characters cross realm is not working. I'm using /invite charname-realm, since my accounts are all on the same battle.net

It automatically declines the invitation, showing no invite at all on the character being invited's screen. They must have just turned it on because it gave a different error message a few days ago.

I'd love to be able to pull a tank from one realm, healer from another, etc to do random dungeons but so far it looks like it's not going to be possible if they're all on the same battle.net account.

That and from their "Q&A" on the post, it sounds like they're going to make this some kind of premium service in the future? lol.. cmon bliz

I don't mind paying the extra fee to access this option, providing the fee isn't outrageous and cheaper than the cost of a server transfer a month. What I'm wondering and haven't found yet, is if we're going to be able to form up raids cross realm like this as well.

edit: Searched through the posts for any mention of a Raid possibility from a Blue post and found this:

Cross-realm raids and BGs aren't, AREN'T included....yet. I would guess it would be like 4.5-4.6 before they do that, so about 6 months to a year. If you allow too much to do cross-realm, then you kill the server-transfer business. Not all together, but still you really limit it.
They at least say in the blue posts that they hear that we want raids, BGs and cross-faction included. So at least has been heard.

Sounds like a technical issue. Since so few players have multiple accounts on the same b.net account, I doubt there will be a fix (remember the authenticator issues back in the day).

There's a known issue that doesn't allow the feature to be used at all if someone is logged into multiple World of Warcraft licenses on the same Battle.net account. It has nothing to do with inviting yourself, multiboxing, etc.

It's a bug, and we are aware. :)
