Default EQ gets a bit boxer friendly sets cpu affinity now.

From the new expansion patch notes:

Multi-core CPU Support: If you have a Multi-core CPU you no longer have to manually set their processor affinity! EverQuest will automatically assign itself to an available core. If you run multiple copies of the client, each new copy running will assign itself to the next available core. Those interested in customizing which core or cores EverQuest clients run on, check the forums.

Awesome, appears SoE is truly adopting a multi-boxing play style.

Similar to the WoW 2.3 patch notes:
    - The latest patch of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade shows a
benefit on today's popular multicore processors like the Intel(r)
Core(tm)2 Duo processor family. The enhanced patch has demonstrated
higher frame rates by spreading the work across both processor cores.

I noticed that message, I'm not even going to have time to test tonight! /cry, hopefully it will be a big boost, I'm thinking I may end up running 3/4 on my big machine so that may be a great thing for me.

    Just an update on this...
The new patch does distribute the processor load to multiple cores exceptionally well. However, the game somehow got more resource intensive. It's actually running slower than it was running before. I've yet to figure out why.

I have no dual or quad core machines but it felt overall somehow smoother for me, perhaps just perception or that my Shamans are even more powerful this patch. Either way I'm loving it'
