    Default Wierd quad core problem

    Background:
    Intel Quad Core Q6600
    2GB RAM
    8800GTX
3 SATA 3.0 hard drives (different wow installs on each)
Running 4 WoW windows through keyclone - 960x600 each - all graphics options disabled or turned down, except draw distance/clipping plane

If I don't use processor affinity, then 2 of the cores will be nearly pegged and the other 2 don't seem to get used much. And the fps in each window seems "normal" .. 20-30 fps

If I use processor affinity and assign a different core to each wow (either manually or using keyclone, then each core gets used, but they all only go up to around 30-40% usage. And the fps in one window will be around 30-40 fos, while the others stay stuck at 15 fps, only dropping below 15 when in IF/SW.

    Any ideas?

Are you using more than one monitor and are the problem windows on that second monitor?

WoW only supports up to 2 cores at the moment, so this is correct.

Not sure why the FPS drops when you manually assign processor affinity, but its possible that its not suppoorted correctly via the applications (keyclone or wowmaximiser?)...

I confirmed what you found yesterday, to some degree.

When I got 5 WoWs up and running, they were running on only 2 cores. When you check processor affinity, they are all on cpu 0&1.

However, by manually assigning them, (I did my main on cpu3, and all the rest on 1/2/3), my framerate nearly doubled. I went from 50 fps to 100+fps on all screens.

    My specs:
    Q6660
    8800GT
    4GB RAM
4 alts at 800x600, absolute minimum settings
main at higher reso (1024x, i think) and near max graphics settings.

if you are using the new keyclone cpu affinity, and find the fps kind of low, be aware of the maxfps and maxfpsbk.

if you are using a single wow folder, and had set the maxfps or maxfpsbk at one time, that same setting would still be used for every instance.

if using a keyclone command, to be certain, set the maxfps and maxfpsbk to something over 40 (999 would mean 'as many fps as possible')

otherwise, find and edit your config.wtf and look for those fields.

I have a similar setup, and I set my CPU affinity with imagecfg. Works wonderfully. The only place I get lag is Shat, but it isn't enough to lose my minions.
