Hi folks.

I've just started with triple-boxing, trying my hand at playing 3 mages.

My rig is currently set up like this:

- Main PC: Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM, 8800 GTX, 24" widescreen lcd
- Second PC: Athlon XP 2800+ 2.1GHz, 1GB RAM, 7900 GS AGP, 20" widescreen lcd rotated to portrait.
- Octopus used to broadcast keys and mouse.

I run my main char on the main PC and the two clones on the second machine. I run the two clones' clients in windowed mode and horizontally tile them, so each window is about 1050x824, not far off 1024x768 (see http://www.zen113011.zen.co.uk/wow-2wins-tall.jpg). All WoW's graphics settings are set to minimum, but performance is still pretty terrible though. Although WoW's FPS meter is reading about 50fps in both windows, I think it's actually about 10fps really. I know the second machine is pretty weak, but is there anything I can do to boost the fps? I've got new hardware on order, so this would just be for the interim. then cast the spell.

One of the problems I have is that when my main char dies, I'm left without any means to control the two remaining clones and they just stand there until they get killed too. I've read on these forums how people have macros to switch main, but how do you actually deal with physically controlling them after that? Do you just move the mouse over to one of the clones' windows and control that directly? Seems..... sub-optimal. Any tips on this appreciated.

Oz.

There are macros and similar solutions to change mains/focuses but it's a pain in the ass I Don't bother with yet...when/if my main dies I alttab to one of other alts' windows taking full control of it at least, and if I have time I change focus on the third alt to the 2nd, if not, I just tab target and pray I can burn down whatever I'm fighting before it does the same to me

Without Keyclone(Or even with, per-window), type /console maxfps ##, replacing the #s with the number you want, such as /console maxfps 35; to set the max FPS while the window is NOT the FRONT window(Including when tabbing to non-wow programs like IRC), type /console maxfpsbk ##, replacing ## with the number you want, preferably LOWER than your normal maxfps; I use 35 maxfps when I do use maxfps, and I leave maxfpsbk on 20 or 25 and see little issue lagwise outside of shatt near the FP where there's thousands of fucking laggy idling arena sluts on their knees for welfare epics lol

I would think your main system should easily be able to run all 3 instances if you just hook up the second monitor to it. It does seem like 2 would be pushing it on your second system with only 1GB of RAM and an AGP video card.
